The Registration workspace includes a variety of standard work queues designed to complete tasks on visits related to admissions.

Registration’s base set of work queues includes:

  • Pre-Admit Patients – Displays visits that have not been admitted but have an arrival date on the current date or within the next 2 days (through 11:59 p.m.).
  • Insurance Not Verified – Arrived – Displays admitted visits that are not final billed, are not self pay, and have an unverified insurance.
  • Insurance Not Verified – Not Arrived – Displays preadmit visits with an arrival date set on the current date or within the next 2 days (through 11:59 p.m.) that are not final billed, are not self pay, and have an unverified insurance.
  • Insurance Verification Errors – Displays visits that are not final billed, have an unverified insurance, and have an EDI 271 error.
  • Duplicate Patients – Displays visits along with a percentage comparison of the names. The criteria includes:
  • Patients have the same gender.
  • Patients have the same Social Security Number or one is missing.
  • Patients have the same middle initial or one is missing.
  • First/last names sound alike.
  • First letter of first names are the same or first letter of last names are the same.
  • Patients have the same birth date or one is missing.
  • Characters in the last name are a 75-percent match.
  • Characters in the first name are a 60-percent match.
  • Undischarged ER – Displays visits that are admitted, have not been discharged, and that have a patient type of “E” for emergency.
  • Financial Counseling – Displays visits that are admitted, have not been discharged, have no patient payments, and have received a co-pay or deductible from the primary insurance.
  • Utilization Review – Displays inpatient visits that have a service that requires an authorization and meets one of the following conditions:
  • If the visit is not discharged and if an authorization exists in which the Next Callback Date is less than 3 days in the future, it will be returned with a status of “Call-back.”
  • If there is no authorization entered, the visit will be returned with a status of “Missing.”
  • If an authorization exists in which the Approved To date is less than the discharge date (or current date if not discharged), the visit will bereturned with a status of “Expired.”
  • If a visit has an authorization but the authorization doesn’t cover all dates of service (charges) on the visit (for example, the visit has a charge on March 1 but the authorization begins on March 2), the visit will be returned with a status of “Unauthorized charges.”
  • If a visit has an authorization that is not approved, it will be returned with a status of “Not Approved.”
