The OP Location field label can be changed to custom text using the Location or Global Registry key OP_LOCATION_LABEL. When the key is enabled, the OP Location label is replaced by text entered into Value 2 of the key. This applies to the Visit tabs in Registration, Billing, Collections, Scheduling, and Payment Posting.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in either Location Registry Maintenance or Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below. The Location Registry takes precedence over the Global Registry.

Professional component code text can display in the Period dropdown in several Quick Actions and tabs with the billing event dates instead of simply “1500” by enabling the System Registry or Global Registry key PERIOD_PROF_COMP_CD.
Professional component codes, which are type of service codes used in 1500 billing, can be associated with revenue codes, which are then associated with charge codes. Billing generally creates a billing event when there is a change in the professional component code of the charges on a visit.
When the registry key is enabled, RCM Cloud® pulls the professional component code for the first charge associated with the billing event and displays its abbreviated text in parenthesis next to the billing event date range in the Period drop-down menu. When there are multiple 1500 events on a visit, this allows the user to view the different professional charges associated with the visit.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in either System Registry Maintenance or Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below. The System Registry takes precedence over the Global Registry.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
PERIOD_PROF_COMP_CD | Determines whether the abbreviated text for the professional component code displays in parenthesis next to the billing event date range instead of only “1500” in the Period dropdown. | |||||

The place and type of service can be associated with a charge by enabling the Global Registry key POS_TOS_OPTION. When enabled, the Place of Service and Type of Service dropdowns display in the Visit > Charges tab in Billing and Collections. This information is saved for the individual charge and is typically used for professional claims for payers such as Medicare and Medicaid.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.

The charge code’s description and/or price can be overridden in the Charges tab depending on settings for the charge code in Charge Maintenance. This can be used to change a description (for example, for generic pharmaceuticals) or price that has not yet been entered for the charge in Charge Maintenance.
By checking the Allow Description Override and/or Allow Price Override options for the selected charge in the Miscellaneous section of the Charge Master Maintenance window, users can override the description and/or price set up for the charge in the Charge Entry window.
For this configuration, use the Charge Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.
Application | Option | Description | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Charge Maintenance | Override checkboxes in Miscellaneous section | Determines whether the charge code’s description and price can be overridden in the Charges tab. | ||||

The quantity for a time-charged service in the Charges tab or created automatically by the Auto Room Charge process can be rounded down by enabling the System Registry or Global Registry key TIME_CHARGE_ROUND_DOWN. This can help with Medicaid and some other insurance carriers, which only pay for full time increments. RCM Cloud® will round down any number that is less than a full increment.
By default, RCM Cloud® rounds up the quantities for a time-charged service. For example, if one unit of a service = 1 hour and the charge time was 1:01, the quantity rounds up to 2. When the registry key is enabled, RCM Cloud® would round the quantity down to 1. If the time charge was 59 minutes, it would round down to zero.
The System Registry key has priority over Global Registry key. If no System Registry key is defined, the application uses the Global Registry setting.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in either System Registry Maintenance or Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below. The System Registry takes precedence over the Global Registry.

TIME_CHARGE_ROUND_DOWN | Determines whether the quantities for time-charged services in Chargesround up or down based on the total time entered. | |||||
