The rules requiring a utilization review method and approved authorization date range can be disabled using Global Registry keys. Using standard functionality, the Authorizations and Authorization Details tabs require both to be entered before an authorization can be saved. If a visit has multiple authorizations, their approved date spans cannot overlap or have gaps between the end date of one authorization and the start date of another and they must all use the same U/R Method.
When UR_DATES_NOT_REQUIRED is enabled, the user is not required to enter Approved From and Approved To dates on the Authorizations tab. RCM Cloud® will allow authorizations with overlapping date spans and gaps between date spans to be saved, but Billing will enforce the original date span rules (start-end dates, no overlaps, no gaps) before the visit can be billed.
When UR_METHOD_NOT_REQUIRED is enabled, the user is not required to select a UR Method on the Authorization Detail tab, and no warning will display when saving the authorization.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.
