Home RCM Cloud Support RCM Cloud Documentation Bed Board Search

Room/bed combinations identify physical locations within nursing stations where patients can be located. Room/bed searches are used in RCM Cloud® applications to select room/bed combinations by searching by nursing station. The applications typically include a Room/Bed field and a Bed Search button.

To search for and assign a patient to a room/bed, follow these steps:

  1. From any application or window with a room/bed search, click the Bed Board button. The Bedboard window displays.

  1. Location – The dropdown menu defaults to the user’s current location. Click the dropdown and select a location. A user may have rights to multiple locations.
  2. Nursing Station – Click the drop-down menu and select a nursing station where the room/bed is located. The list populates with the nursing station’s rooms and their color-coded information. If a room/bed is occupied, the visit information displays in the list. Scroll to the right to view all of the details.

  1. Click on a room/bed to select it.
  2. Click Save. The selected room/bed combination is returned.

Set Bed Search Colors, Status, and Character Limits

The bed status colors and descriptions as well as the character limits for the room and bed identifiers in the Bedboard window can be configured on the Room/Bed tab in Profile Maintenance. The Bed Status Colors indicate whether a room is suggested, not suggested, not available, or pending for a patient. Suggestions are based on the patient’s gender, age, and language. The descriptions that display in the Bed Status Cd column are configurable as well as the character limits on the Room and Bed columns.
