The referring physician can automatically be added to the visit via the Referral Info tab by configuring Global Registry keys.
The Ref Phys field is activated when Physician is selected in the Ref Type dropdown and when the value in the Global Registry key REFERRAL_TYPE_PHYS_CD matches the Referral Type Master Code (in Codes Maintenance) for a Physician. For example, if the Referral Type Master Code for a Physician is 67, that should be entered into Value 1 of the key.
When configured, the physician entered in Ref Phys field in the Referral Info tab is added to the list of visit physicians with a physician type that corresponds to the Physician Type code (from the Physician Type Master Codes in Codes Maintenance) entered into the Global Registry key REFERRAL_PHYS_TYPE.
For example, if the Physician Type Code for a Referring Physician is 3, that should be entered into Value 1 of the key in order for the physician to be added to the Physicians tab with a physician type of Referring.
If the same referring physician already exists on the visit, only the referral type and source are saved in the Referral Information tab.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.

Information entered into visit-level fields in the Addl Info tab can be carried over to new visits by enabling the Global Registry key USER_DEF_VISIT_CARRY_OVER. Patient-level information stays with the patient.
Fields are designated as patient- or visit-level fields in User Defined Field Maintenance. When enabled, information entered into a visit-level field will display on future added visits. When disabled, the visit-level fields are blank on future added visits.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.

This applies to the Visit tabs in Registration, Billing, Collections, Scheduling, and Payment Posting.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in either Location Registry Maintenance or Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below. The Location Registry takes precedence over the Global Registry.

A visit can be associated with a Diagnosis Related Group by enabling the Global Registry key REG_DRG_ENABLED. When the registry key is enabled, the DRG Id field is enabled on the Visit tab in Registration.
A DRG is an inpatient classification system of diagnoses and procedures into groups based on the primary and secondary diagnoses, primary and secondary procedures, age, and length of stay. This classification determines a fixed reimbursement amount.
To add DRG information to the visit, follow these steps:
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.

If an organization has multiple locations, referral types and sources can be assigned to specific locations by enabling the Global Registry key REFERRAL_INFO_BY_LOCATION. When enabled, the options in the Referral Type and Referral Source drop-down menus in the Referral Information tab in Registration are limited to those types and sources assigned to the selected location.
The key also enables referral type codes (Codes Maintenance) and referral sources (Referral Source Maintenance) to be assigned to locations. When disabled, the drop-down menus display all referral types and sources, whether or not they are associated with locations.
For this configuration, use the key(s) in Global Registry Maintenance with the settings described in the table below.
