How to add a New Display Group

1. First add the new Display Group Name to the DISPLAY GROUP file

 
Select VA FileMan Option: Enter or Edit File Entries
Input to what File: DISPLAY GROUP// (52 entries)
EDIT WHICH FIELD: ALL//
Select DISPLAY GROUP NAME: Standing Orders
Are you adding ‘Standing Orders’ as a new DISPLAY GROUP (the 53RD)? No//Yes

 
Prompts in Setup:
Select DISPLAY GROUP NAME: Other OTHER HOSPITAL SERVICES
NAME: OTHER HOSPITAL SERVICES Replace
Select MEMBER:
MIXED NAME: Other//
SHORT NAME: OTHER//

2. Link the Display group to the new Display Group

3. Add the new DISPLAY GROUP to the XPAR EDIT PARAMETER to get it to display in CareVue.

4. Also, an orderable item needs to be created for the new Display Group.

Then the Order Dialog would need to be edited in FileMan to change the Display Group. Changing the Display Group by the normal means (Enter/edit generic orders), I have found that an entirely new Generic Order would need to be created. If this route is desired, let me know and I can provide the steps for that.
