1. LOG INTO BCMA, SCAN THE PATIENT’S WRISTBAND, AND CONFIRM PATIENT
INFO.
2. GO TO THE IV TAB IN BCMA AND CLICK ON THE IV THAT NEEDS TO BE
STOPPED OR COMPLETED UNDER MED/SOLU TAB.
3. IN THE BOTTOM LEFT-HAND CORNER IT HAS THE IV BAG CHRONOLOGY AND
ALSO HAS THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE BAG THAT IS SELECTED.
4. THERE IS AN ICON THAT LOOKS LIKE AN IV BAG WITH SOME NUMBERS AND
LETTERS NEXT TO IT. THIS WOULD BE THE NUMBER THAT IS USED TO STOP
OR COMPLETE THE IV.
5. INPUT THE NUMBER THAT IS NEXT TO THE IV ICON INTO THE SCAN
MEDICATION BAR CODE BOX AND HIT ENTER. NOW THE ACTION BOX WILL
OPEN AND LET YOU STOP OR COMPLETE THE IV.
6. THIS CAN ALSO BE DONE BY RIGHT-CLICKING ON THE INFUSING IV AND
SELECTING “TAKE ACTION ON WARD STOCK.” THIS FEATURE IS ALSO IN THE
DUE LIST MENU ON THE TOP OF THE SCREEN AFTER YOU HIGHLIGHT THE IV IN
THE IV BAG CHRONOLOGY BOX. ***
7. AFTER THIS PROCESS IS COMPLETE, THE STATUS OF THE IV WILL BE
SHOWN ALONG WITH WHO DID ALL THE ACTIONS ON THE IV AND ANY
COMMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN INPUTTED.
