Correct Date of Death to Complete Duplicate Record Merge

While going through the Duplicate Record Merge steps in OpenVista, there is a step to Identify Potential Merge Issues. On that step you may encounter the following problem that needs to be corrected:
FROM: DFN=793996 XXXXX,XXXXX X [XXXXXXXXX] FILE 15 IEN: 4191
TO: DFN=366226 XXXXX,XXXXX [XXXXXXXXX]
File 2 [PATIENT file]
Field .351 [DATE OF DEATH] IENS=366226,

The example message above is telling the user that the TO patient has a date of death in the patient file and the FROM patient does not. Notice the IEN number of 366226 next to DATE OF DEATH. This matches the DFN number up above for the TO patient. To correct this issue, the user would need to either go in to the PATIENT file in Fileman and enter a DATE OF DEATH on the FROM patient to match the DATE OF DEATH of the TO patient or they can delete the DATE OF DEATH on the TO patient if that is inaccurate information. There is an example below of how to fix this by adding in a DATE OF DEATH to the FROM patient.
