Process to get message:
· Nurse scans patients wristband and confirms patient.
· Nurse scans medication and this message pops up.
Reason for message:
· The medication’s barcode may not be in the Synonym file.
· The medication might be linked to another drug.
· The medication’s IEN code might not be correct.
How to fix error:
· Get into the Synonym file and see if barcode is scanned in.
· Also scan to see if linked to another medication.

· The medication may have already been given.
o Have the nurse check the “Medication Log” to see if it has already been given.
· The “Virtual Due List Parameters” may not be set correctly.
o Have the nurse change the “VDL” to the correct time that the drug is due.
· The medication may not have been ordered or verified yet.
o Check the patient’s profile to see if the drug is ordered or pending. Also have the nurse check to see if the order has been released
