There are two areas that control the Stop Date/Time for medications, those being the Inpatient Ward Parameters and within the Pharmacy Orderable Item. Below are steps on how to obtain these settings if changes would like to be made. The Pharmacy Orderable Item setting will take precedence over the Inpatient Ward Parameters as it is at the medication level.

Select OI-DRUG TEXT ENTRY:
INACTIVE DATE: DAY (nD) or DOSE (nL) LIMIT: ?
Type a whole number between 0 and 99, 0 decimal digits, followed by either a “D” (for NUMBER OF DAYS) or an “L” (for DOSE LIMIT). If found when this drug is ordered, this is used to calculate a DEFAULT vale for the STOP DATE prompt of the order. If the number entered here is followed by a “D”, that NUMBER OF DAYS will be added to the START DATE to calculate the STOP DATE. If the number entered is followed by an “L”, the number is used as the NUMBER OF DOSES to calculate the STOP DATE. This is best used for NARCOTICS and ANTIBIOTICS.
